just thinking, cab swap

I have a 55 sittin out at the farm for a future cruiser project while finishin up my 72 bronco offroad truck.

Had a f**ked up dream last night where I was out in the shop, bronco was sittin outside the big door, 55's body was all primered up and there was a beat up mid 90s f150 shortbox getttin dismantled.....

I am takin this as a sight into the future where I had gotten a truck to use as a DD beater to maintain while preppin the body to swap onto the F150 frame and running gear. Thus givin me a totally updated chassis, suspension and drive train with EFI and OD, etc.

Shortening a frame is not a concern, body mounts are not a concern, but does anyone have such measurements of how wide the Front track width as well the rear end of a 55 is?

Hey Calgary……………………………. 59 ½ inches.

I would expect the front / rear tread on any newer full sized truck (65 and up) will be way to wide.

I don’t think that searches that I do will post as a link and work for you. Put into the search feature these word “front tread track” no quotations, I was amazed (no life) with what comes up.

It is not necessary to swear or pretend to, we are all very mature here (Yeah, right!) and understand bigger ordinary words.
