So I have the engine ready to remove the heads I was reading in the book that I need to "loosen rocker arm stud nuts" so they can be rotated to the side
Looking at my heads, the rocker is on the fulcrum which is a large "pillar" that is formed as part of the head (aka I don't seen any thing that is movable that I can rotate)
and when it says remove push rods do they just pull out? (I know to keep them in order)
so Q: how do I properly get to the head bolts that are in the rocker area
Q2: how do I pull out the push rods when they seem to be very attached to the rockers by compression or what not
I removed the heads once from an engine that was in a 77 Ford Truck. If I remember correctly, they just pulled off, once I got the bolts out. I also remember having to use a flat screwdriver to pry them as I tried to remove them as well. Hope that helps.
If anyone disagrees, please let me know, as I am getting ready to rebuild a 351M that is on an engine stand.
sorry that last post was about how to put the rocker's back into place once I rotate them can I just put them back and make em look good or do I need to follow the setup procedure that I see in the book?
how do I put the rockers back once I rotate them, since I only need to move like 4 of the rockers do i need to follow this whole process to put the rockers back in? do I need to loosen them all and start the process? or just tighten the ones I pulled back in?
