235 HP model 7.3

i think i got a lower powered version of the 7.3 when i replaced the engine in my truck its got a green label but its covered up with dirt and hadn cleaned it off yet im barely getting 16 LBS boost at 3100 rpm i think there is something wrong but i have new up pipes intercooler and i checked the boots and didnt find any holes what do you think is wrong

16 to 18 PSI is all you're going to see without tuning. Now, if you are running a tuner then something is wrong.

16 psi from a stock motor isn't bad at all. I know there were different power levels of 7.3s. The Excursions were only rated 225 hp...

What year is the engine? As long as it's a 99.5 or later, it's the same as all the others. Just tuning differences.

its a 2000 model it was being sluggish the other day and i hooked up the WDS to it to monitor mgp i got around 3lbs at 65 jus crusin and 4 going up hills i thought it was low but i guess not other than that its a great engine glad to know its alright i got the AIS kit and a 4in turbo back straight pipe im scared to chip it though

check your wastegate actuator tomake sure the spring did not go bad. just changed mine out what a diffrence in boost. what does orange lable indicate ?

Boost sounds about right, depending on the hill. Mine will go up to 6-8psi, depending on how long & steep the hill is. Why are you scared to chip it?

mine is a green label i think it came out of a 450 at one time but i got it it come out of a 250

i had one that i bought from a dude one time and it was a total nightmare i had to replace the injectors and the cups before 100,000 miles cause it kept burning the injector up

You had one injector that kept failing?? Sounds like you had other issues possible. What chip, if I can ask? Custom tuning is the way to go anyway, but I'm just curious...

im not real sure what it was they pulled it before i got it, number 3 injector cracked and hydrolocked for some reason
