I am really about looks for my truck and was wondering what would be involved in removing the AC stuff. There is sooo much cluter under the hood it is unbarable. I live in MD so there never really a SUPER COLD or SUPER HOT time where opening and closing the windows cant fix. I have already removed my cruise control stuff and relocated many of the wires on that side and painted my windshield washer fluid box black and now that whole wheel well area looks cool. I also have my pumps, aircleaner, valve cover, etc painted. but the other side where all that AC stuff is looks crazy. Let me know what you think
Yes I drive my truck harte3 so why dont you stop being a smart*** and ok a heater core box is easy to find. And I havent used my AC for over about so actually im not 100% if it works lol
I don't think Harte3 meant it that way. Just one of those questions you have to ask yourself. Kinda like when someone wants 600HP that results in 3mpg in a daily driver. Just how often are you gonna stomp on the gas and enjoy it vs. how often are you going to be complaining of low gas mileage.
Just been looking at putting A/C in mine for a while since it can get up to 115 here in the summer. Sometimes a little vent window just isn't enough.
ok my bad Harte3 I mean I take my truck to meets and stuff thats why I want it to look good. 115 holy cow yea if it ever got that hot here I would not be thinking about taking my AC out. Is it hard to remove it like i have no idea on this stuff so what would I have to do?
I think it's all pretty much just bolted on. Remove the A/C compressor like you would the alternator. Then just follow all the lines from it and unbolt anything they go in to. I think there's a component on the inner fender wall, and then the hoses go into the condenser inside the airbox, which then blows into the cab.
The other plus about non-A/C is that the glovebox is about 4x the size of the A/C trucks. Nothing special, but a bonus.
Well, how about dressing it up a bit? A chrome or stainless steel wrap on the AC pump or buff and polish it or paint it along with some colored hoses to compliment the engine? Same with the alternator.
HAY MATE HAVE YOU GOT ANY PICTURES OF THIS SO CALL MESS I DON'T HAVE AIR CON AN WOULD LIKE IT IF YOU DON'T JUST TELL ME HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO POST FROM YOUR END I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA AND 115 IS F..K ALL YOU CAN FRY EGGS DOWN HERE ON A SUMMERS DAY ON A CAN OF PAINT LEFT OUTSIDE FOR HOUR
Ill take it off your hands I think it well fit mine a /74 F250 can some one tell me if it would or are there different my engine is a Canadian 300 HOW'S THE BOLT SET ON YOU ENGINE couldn't really see from picture thanks
Ok, you're crazy. While the temps may not get high enough for you to run an A/C very often, the few times a year they do, it's sure nice to have the option. Also, you never know when you may need to make a trip into the hot weather zone, and you'll hate yourself for removing the A/C if/when that happens.
