Engine Bump?

On the highway last night and noticed what seemd to be an occasional bump in the engine. Kinda reminded me of my 02 7.3 when the cam position sensor was going. Not as bad, but seemd to happen once and a while. So slight I almost suspected road bumps but figued I would ask here and see if this is happening to anyone else.

Yes your truck is making the noise

Yes you are correct. Our 09 F150 almost stalled in rush hour after heavy stop and go traffic last night. It's currently at the dealer will add more after truck is returned to me.

no Check engine light? You could go to Auto Zone and have them read any codes that might be there... Also, you can try a vehicle health report... Check your owner's manual on how to do this.

Truck runs great otherwise, just seems for no reason, to miss once and awhile. The problem with codes, as usual, it will likely not throw a code unless the miss is actually happening.

Could be a bad COP... had one going bad on my 2000 that made it feels almost like the trans was slipping. Had the dealer do a stress test on the COPs and sure enough, one was missing under load. Didn't trigger the CEL but I think there was a code to be read by the dealer's scanner.

Unless you've plugged in with a Ford laptop and checked the codes, you have no way of knowing this. There are hundreds of codes logged all the time that don't illuminate the Check Engine Light.

If you're having an intermittent miss, chances are there's a code logged (unless you've disconnected the battery). If not, they can attach a datalogger that will record even more information until the problem occurs.
