cat delete / no catalytic convertor

i just bought a cherry bomb glass pack and an exhaust system from summit. Im considering running no catalytic convertor. Anything i should know? I know it wont pass inspection but my truck wont pass right now anyway, so what the hell. Im more concerned with loss of power, or worse gas millage.... let me know, thanks.

You're worried about loss of power/milage by deleting the cat or installing the cat-back you bought? If so you don't have anything to worry about as these things should actually help power and milage a little.. as long as you can restrain from flooring it everywhere just to hear the noise the exhaust now makes.

I agree, there is no reason to mess with it either way. You say it won't pass now? So what are you going to be doing with it? You cannot legally drive it on the road. If you will use it offroad only, no reason to mess with it either.

If you ever plan to get it inspected and passed in the future, no point in doing things now that will make it harder to pass in the future or could reduce the vehicles value.

You will not notice much if any performance gains by running without cats. For something that old, I doubt you will see any loss of power or economy without cats. There is just nothing to be gained either way, but messing with it involves work and could cost you later on, so I say leave the cats alone.

yea, if you are gonna drive this truck on the road, and will need it inspected later down the road, might as well get what ever needs to be fixed and go on with it...instead of spending money on having the converter cut off, then need to have one put back on..plus everything else that needs to be fixed
