I've pressureized the intake up to 20 lbs and didn't see or hear any leaks. No smoke unless I've got it floored and the smoke stops when I loose power and returns again when the power returns. Almost seems like someones turning the fuel on and off, on and off over and over when its hesitating.
I need to get ahold of Casey (fordbronco69) so we can get more data logged and post the results.
I may be off here but I was thinking that maybe you are maintaining fuel pressure but loosing fuel volume?
That's a good thought, but I don't think it is possible.
Power loss at WOT due to inadequite fuel volume would drop the pressure way down because the injectors would be using it up.
Kinda late in here, but prior to my Adrenalin I had similar symptoms. Mine drove great under "civilian" application of the skinny, but if I stomped on the pedal, the truck fell on it's face. For me it was quite reproducible. So during my trouble shooting I started with the fluids (Fuel and Oil) Fuel checked out, for the oil, I connected a manual liquid filled 5000psi gage and affixed it to my driver side wiper arm.
All h*ll would break loose under heavy acceleration. IIRC It would rapidly climb to ~1800psi, then DROP down to ~900-1200psi, build back up etc... If I stayed in it, these cycles would continue not caring much what the rpms were. As soon as I let off the skinny, the gauge would spike sometimes to 2500psi. Moral of story, as long as the engine's demand for oil stayed below 1800psi, all was good in the world. Anymore, forget it. New pump, ~2800-3100psi ALL DAY LONG. Problem solved. Never even pulled the IPR. (just swapped it from old pump to new one)
I'm still trying to figure this out too...I've spoken with my mechanic, and he said he would pull the codes for me, but I just have to find time to get up there.
I did replace the whole pedal assembly, but not a change. I guess my other pedal and sensor would still be good, keeping it for a replacement or pass it along to someone needeing one.
I'm getting AE hooked up this afternoon and get some data logged and post up the results. If its the HPOP thats fine, Adrenalin here we come!!
Clint, as far as codes go, I don't have any that are out of the normal for a chiped truck. ICP pressure code, I think its 1211 and a few others because I've delete some things, but they are soft codes.
Ok, tried to get a feel for how to data log with AE. I'll try to upload the file, its not very long of a test, basically just leaving a red light and getting onto the HWY. Hopefully someone can tell me if I'm doing this data logging right????
bump to the top.
I can email this csv file to someone that can help if needed.
