Spring Cleaning....
Zaino is a sealant, not a carnauba wax. A wax will generally give the paint a more "wet" look but not last as long. A sealant will provide a "mirror" like finish and when applied correctly, can last many months. As with any last step product (wax or sealant), the results are entirely dependent upon the condition of the paint beneath it. No wax or sealant will remove swirls/scratches/imperfections, although some have very minor filling properties which diminish as the product wears away. In fact, many sealants will magnify surface imperfections. Make sure to use a buffer and polish first, if needed, then protect with a wax/sealant. Zaino does sell a polish for very light swirls. Back to Zaino, when applying multiple coats, be sure to use the ZFX accelerator, otherwise it takes many hours for each coat to cure. Adding any additional product before allowing the previous coat to cure will only remove the previous product. Also, make sure that there are no other waxes/sealants on the surface before applying Zaino - it won't bond otherwise. Use dawn dish detergent to strip any wax - a clay bar also helps, along with removing other things. Z2 or Z5 can be applied to all areas of the vehicle - glass, plastic, etc. If you've ever used Rain-x, try Zaino on your windows and you'll be blown away when it rains - wipers are almost not needed. When it comes time to wash your car, make sure you use a car soap that will not strip Zaino, as many sold in the stores will. I use Duragloss 901, but others are gentle enough, including the zaino soap.
I rarely use Zaino anymore, primarily because I prefer the deep "wet" look, rather than a highly reflective, mirror shine. I do LOVE the zaino leather cleaner and protectant. The protectant gives leather the new leather smell.
