rear axle fluid question
I had a vibration/shake in my 2003 super duty. I have the limited slip diff. The vibration was only when I would turn left or right from a full stop. Going straight was fine. I read on here to change the fluid in the rear axle. I changed the fluid and put Royal purple gear oil in there. I still have the vibration. Should I give it a little time to work into the clutch packs? Or should I add some friction modifier? I know the Royal Purple has the modifier in it. I don't want to add more modifier and make it worse. Any suggestions would help.

The additive in the Royal Purple should have been enough for the clutch packs. You could try adding more friction modifier but at this point you may want to inspect the LS unit to see what is going on inside. Something isn't right.

I have a 4:10 L/S dually I'm running Mobil 1 w/ Stalube friction modifier. When accelerating I noticed a little vibration straight or turning, found that the the vibration is not the L/S but rather my wheels spinning or inducing some wheel hop if I'm at more than 1/3 throttle. I was a little spooked at first then found it consistently happened depending on my right foot.
