Ranger Trans

I have a 2000 4x4 Ranger with the 3.0 motor. Had the trans rebuilt and when I installed I am having a problem with the shift. The truck wants to go forward in all gears including neutral (will start in neautral and park). I replaced the neutral switch and adjusted the linkage (per the book) but still the problem. Any ideas? Also is there a picture anywhere of the linkage hook-up to the trans shift lever? Thanks

sounds like you better take it back to the rebuilder. Any reputable repair shop will warranty their labor- sounds like the planetary gears inside the trans are shot

I agree with mobile, any halfway decent shop will have issues like this covered under a warranty, and as stated either the planetary gears are shot or the builder screwed the pooch in some way, but I can't think of anything during the install that would cause you to be getting forward motion in all gears.
