ok guys i have a cousin that wants to run the 310 tune on his truck with a 5" exhaust and an intake is what he has right now i think i what he said..... so my question is what all does he need to hold tranny and engine wise in upgrades
Torque converter and transmission will hold up for a good amount of time. It all depends on how he runs the truck. I've had the 310 tune on my truck since thew weekend Matt made it. Torque converter slip is still less than 8. But, if you really want it to last Suncoast is the way to go along with head studs and complete egr delete. I think the thing you really need to tell him is that the 310 tune is not a daily driver. It is a all out race tune. He needs to run the 275 as a daily driver and then load the 310 tune when he want to really run the truck.
I guess that would be my point on the torque converter! I lost mine with very little use! It's the same converter that the 6.0 had and that was also the weakest link in the drive train.

The 310 tune is just a lot of power, and when put behind an 8500+ pound truck something will give sooner or later unless you have the proper mods to go with the tune.
ok cool will the clutches hold up inside the tranny or does he need a suncoast he runs like hell on the 310 tune EVERYWHERE he goes so i have studs egr delete and trans correct?

If he's going to run it hard, then I would get a complete suncoast transmission along with a converter. With that and the rest of the mods he should be good to go.
