I bought fuel filter for my f250 psd and thought that maybe the ones that were in the motorcraft box were the rights one. The one that went on the lower filter was a little different so i assumes that maybe it was a new and improve model. went back and bought the same pair of filter and saw that someone else had swapped them. put the right one on right way. did i damage anything?
Help me out if u can man, it looked exactly the same but the lip on the part that goes into the housing was a little different, kinda had a single lip with its own gasket. its a ford f250 6.0
My thought is maybe someone had swapped the motorcraft one out with a fram or store brand and if it fit that is most likely what happened you just paid too much for an offbrand or a ripp off fram filter... just pay attn to you truck unless the filter degraded alot I believe your fine... You can get those filters for much less online and they are racor which is the same as motorcraft from places like fleetfilters.com
There is a new primary filter out that looks very similar to the old one, but has an o-ring on the end that fits inside the pump housing. That sounds like what you are describing.
yeah thats exactly it, always paranoid with all this stuff i keep reading about the 6.0, feel like i got cheated in life. bought it brand new, cant afford to change trucks.
