Changed Fuel filters, now a fuel leak.

Bought this truck last September and I've been slowly changing fluids and upgrading it. Did the fuel filters today and the engine filter cap was extremely brittle and had to break it apart to take it off! The frame mounted filter looked pretty bad to me. It looks like these filters haven't been changed in a while. What do you guys think? This is my first time taking them out.

As I said above, I had to break apart the fuel filter cap for the engine mounted filter just to get the thing off. So after I got it off, I called Ford for a cap and they said they were out but could get one tomorrow (now today) by like 10am. I had to drive the truck today so I just went ahead a purchased a Dorman aftermarket from O'Reillys. This morning after about an hour drive to work I popped the hood, with the truck still running, and noticed fuel wetness around the cap and a little trickle going down the back side of the housing. I lubed the oring before install. Anyone have experience with this brand cap? It wasn't my first choice but my only "right now" choice I had last night.
