Automatic Transmission Fluid Capacity Help
I decided to change the ATF in my Used F-250 Powerstroke 4X4. Does anyone know the capacity if I just pulled the pan? The capacity of the entire system is supposed to be 15.6 quarts. But I think that includes the trans cooler etc. Also what type of ATF are you supposed to use. I picked up Dextron III Mercon in gallons from Wal-mart will this work?

If you only change what is in the pan you'll need 6 or 7 quarts. If you want to change all the fluid go to the Tech Articles section and read the article I posted on July 6.
