I am new to diesels but seafoam has saved me a valve job on more then one truck and I have since kept at least two pints on my shelf at all times. These other guys know more then me but I was told to drain the fuel bowl and then fill it with seafoam let that run through and it WILL clean the injectors.
I don't know if I would run strait seafoam in a diesel.
The biggest trick around here for that is to get the motor to operating temps, then drain the fuel bowl and fill it with good ATF.
Now, if you really wanted to clean that sucker. mix the ATF 50/50 with Seafoam.
I love seafoam a lot, but its just too pricey. I want to buy the big jugs of it, but its just not very economical anymore. The Pint cans are 10 dollars here.

How is your IPR o-rings? Is the fuel in the filter housing dark like 2-stroke gas? Is the filter element real dark. Is the truck using oil? If so that's signs of injector o=rings.
What does IPR stand for? I changed the fuel filter the other day and it was almost black, the fuel in the fuel bowl was normal and clean looking. I dont think it is using oil, The exhaust is not blueish. I drove it again and it seems to drive normal until I put it in fifth gear then it acts like it is running out of fuel and when i start it it takes a bit for it to fire, almost like the fuel system has to reprime. Does this sound like injector o-rings?
Yeah the filter was pretty dark and it only had 4000 miles on it. I unplugged the map sensor with it running and it didn't change at all not so much as a sputter. I also took the vacuum line off the map sensor and blew through it to make sure it was clear and it was. Does any one have a picture of the IPR so I know what to look for? It is not the same thing as the fuel pressure regulator is it? I know what and where the FPR is, I have cleaned the screen in it numerous times. Please keep the info coming I think I am getting close to narrowing this problem down.

You gotta drive it with the MAP sensor disconnected.
You said your truck idles fine. As did mine when my map was unhooked.
=)
First off I have first hand experience with edge evolution, the best thing you can do is just what my signature said. $35 may save you a lot of money and more importantly time.
You may do all this fixin' and replacin' stuff just as I did, but if the computer isn't right you might as well **** in the wind .
I believe they completely clear the PCM and then reload the program that is supposed to be in the pcm. Since Edge products copy the stock program, then build a new program for the levels desired, and then load the new program in errors can and do occur. Then if you want to go back to stock, it clears the program you had installed and copies its copy of the stock program back into the PCM. My truck slowly started having new strange symptoms and I tried all the little unplug this, disconnect that, this needs changed, yadda yadda yadda stuff. Nothing fixed the problem, then Oversize told me to get a reflash done. Ford tech said there was corrupted and deleted files and data. It fixed all but one problem, and I know what that is, just waiting for the funds now.
