Water pump

Well the impeller went out on my water pump on my 5.0. Is there anything real tricky about changing them out in these trucks?

Yup there easy todo. hardest part is getting the fan and pully aligned to bolt onto the water pump. And cleaning the old gasket off. Just take your time un bolting the pump, them bolts are pritty easy to break.

Do replacement pumps come with new bolts, or is that something you'd have to find?

Nope. But you can get stainless WP bolt kits to get rid of the steel bolts that rust up.

I agree with Lew. There have been a few postings mentioning broken bolts. If you have time, I'd soak them for a day or two first.

When you start taking everything apart, make a note of which bolts go where.
