headlight dimmer switch

I have a 97 F150 and would like to install a floor mounted headlight dimmer switch. Has anyone done this? My MFS keep shorting my drivers side headlight.

Why not replace the stock switch and avoid the wiring hassle.
It's a plug up deal once you get acess to the column.

I'm with bluegrass7 change your multi-function switch, very easy to do and probably no more espensive than buying the needed components and wireing to set up a seperate switch. And be darn sure you inspect BOTH sides of the electrical connectors for discoloration / heat, it might be one of the connectors causing the problem.
