Parting out Ford EXCURSION
2000 Excursion XLT V10 gas
I have a damaged passenger side mirror (that has power adjust & elec. heat, no signals, no power fold, no power in/out). The outer shell and guts are OK. Dealer ordered mirror itself ($118) so I have that, it is still missing 1 of 3 spring clips for nylon post guides, but I made a replacement for the missing spring clip.
The new mirror has the 3 nylon posts, the 2 female-threaded adjusting “posts or pins” and a nylon center “anchor” that’s about 1” x ½”. Its center pin going into the “mount” of the guts is male threaded.
I sure wish I had a diagram with component names!
Do you have whatever the center, male threaded pin/post threads into? And if it’s a nut that fell out the bottom, how would I get it back to where it belongs? Yes, I’m afraid to pull and examine the mirror off the driver’s side because I might not get it back on.
I see your passenger-side door is damaged, what’s left of the mirror?
I’m in Colorado Springs.
If anything else comes up, let me know, I'm glad to help if I can...
Are you working on the internals of the mirror? I've never had one apart. Removing the mirror from the door is easy. But the parts you're referring to are not familiar to me.
This was a Gas 5.4L V-8 Excurson, so no CAC
