Need a bit of help...I have a 1997 F-250 (old style) that I need to replace the dash pad in. I see them in good shape on ebay all the time, but they just say "light" gray or "dark" gray when listed. I thought there were only 2 grays from 92-97 but read somewhere there are 4. Does anyone know for sure? Don't want to spend the extra if I am just going to have to paint it anyway. Thanks in advance.

 

I know what you mean. I've got the same problem. I thought there was only one gray shade. I haven't found anything decent that match to this day. Where did you find four?

AFAIK, early 90s were darker, while later 90s were opal/light gray. I have a '97 also in light gray. I took a fuse box off a '93 with the gray interior and it doesn't match. The fuse box is darker than the rest of the interior.

I also can't find a paint can that matches the light gray in local auto stores. Sigh...

 

I believe that the dark grey was on the 1992 and 1993 trucks. It is called "Granite" by Ford. The color code for this Granite is "J".

Contact www.paintscratch.com They probably be able to mix paint to match your interior color-especially if you give them your interior paint code. This paint code is found on your VIN label.

 

You could just re-wrap it with marine vinyl, my project today. 5 bucks. I'm redoing mine black though.

 

There are only two Grey interior colors for the '92 - '96/'97 trucks.

'92 & '93 Dark Grey
'94 - '96/'97 Light Grey

My 95 has the lighter gray and I believe its called opel. I think 94 up was the lighter gray, from what I have seen.

 

My '94 also has the lighter grey and I believe TexasGuy001 is right and it is called opel. Also, my interior color matches my dad's '97.

I am also looking to replace the dash pad in my '94 as it has developed a tiny crack that bugs the hell out of me, because it is the only problem with my interior. Does anyone know a good place to get one?

 

The only place I know of to get a good dash pad is salvage yard or Ebay. I have seen some nice ones on Ebay.

 

Has anyone found a vinyl that matches the "Granite"? I want to modify my dash pad for a double din and also cover a custome console....I found a guy place that makes consoles that match....said they won't sell it ....and there suppliers won't sell to the public....so lots of luck....haha.
