Pulled into the driveway about 2 hours ago With my 97 F250 PSD and left a diesel trail. Did some trouble shooting and pretty sure I’m on the right track but would appreciate any advise before I get in over my head. The leak appears to becoming from the drivers side of the filter bowl, middle of the black plastic electrical connection. Just above the wrench. I blew it out with compressed air and fired it up and a small amount of fuel is coming out with the engine running.
Couple of questions.
1. What’s it called? I hate not being able to use correct nomenclature.
2. Any tips on how to change it would be extremely helpful.
Thanks a bunch
*** I snagged the picture from lossscause post on fuel leak. Hope he doesn’t mind.
That's the electrical connection to the fuel bowl heater.
I believe there is a kit out there that has the fitting, but I'm not sure what # it is. There have been a couple threads recently about fuel leaks and I know the part number is listed in them.
The bottom is the WIF sensor and the top is the connection for the fuel bowl heater they are both leaking on my truck, be careful not to over tighten the water in fuel sensor because it will break, speaking from personal experience unfortunately

I have this in my book Fuel Filter Heater: Ford F5TZ-9J294-A International 1825186C91 External Connector F4TZ-9C065-A
And here is a close up pic of the external connector and one exploded view of the canister (1995) where you can see an o-ring with that connector and other o-ring with the sensor water probe, which I think are leaking in your case.
