I'd like to upgrade the shocks and steering stabilizers on my Ex, as well as do the VB spring swap. I'm curious what the most recommended shock is for the Ex - Bilstein HD, Ranchos, etc. How about a good dual steering stabilizer?

Seams to be most folks recommend the Rancho RS9000XLs. I just ordered 4 at Sears and with their free install, the total is $365 with tax.
I also used the ranchos, and put them on before my vb spring swap and they were still ok length wise after the new springs.
With the heavier psd motor you might want to go with a heavier spring like the w or x code. More I guess depending on how much you want it to go up in the process. Most manufacurers do make a dual steering stabilizer, but on some of them you won't like the price. I went with the single rancho.

Do you happen to know if the Bilstein's would still be long enough with the vb swap? Also, I'm expecting the vb's to give me about 1.5-2" in extra height.....not really looking to go any higher.
When you order the shocks, get the F250 fronts.... they have a longer travel as the F250 sits higher stock than the Ex did. You need to get the Excursion rears as they have a different mounting configuration than the trucks.
For the rears, you should be fine with 1-2" of lift but if you want to be sure, the rear shock mounts are only fastened to the axle tube with U-bolts... loosen them up, turn the mount to where you want and tighten down.
Let me know if you want a deal on Bilsteins. I am taking them off (wife doesn't like the ride) for RS900XLs.
What doesn't your wife like about the ride with the Bilstein's. I am about to put some on our Excursion which is my wife's daily driver. Are the Bilstein's stiffer than stock?

They are very stiff IMO. Much more so than the minivan that's for sure (and a good thing). For towing they are great, but you can feel every bump in the road. I like a more Cadillac type of ride, but also want to make them stiff when towing.
