In planning to remove the drivetrain from the '89 F-250 I bought, I will remove the front clip (for later sale) and pull the engine and E4OD as a pair.
However, I see only 3 lifting eyes on the engine. One in the front and 2 in the rear. Should there be 4?
I got an additional driver's side rear one off a junk engine, but it will not fit the intake bolts in the front of the intake. If I need the 4th point, can it go on the threaded bosses next to the front intake bolts?
I don't think they had a fourth one. I know mine didn't/doesn't. I just use a good heavy chain from the 2 front to rear oppisite each other. When I pulled mine from the donor I also hooked a med wieght ratchet strap to the tranny so I could keep it sorta level.
Banjo I used all three lift points the other day with 2 chains, and picked up one with a ZF5 on it and carried it about a mile it set level like you would want it too.
