Well, right now, ISU has accepted me, but I haven't replied. After my grades are in for this semester, Iowa will then make their decision and I will go from there.

Well, for logistics, Iowa is better as it is the close one, and I would also still be going with my study mates. It is a good school, smaller classes, well rated. ISU is 2 hours away, through some pretty rough winter weather driving area, so it isn't smart to commute. The hard part to figure out is taking care of this place while not being here much. Plus the added complication of trying to help my parents while not being here... My dad is getting to the point he can't do a lot of things, then there is a lot I don't want him doing because I would just have to totally re do it anyway...

ISU is much more connected to the employers though, as far as job fairs go anyway. They have larger classes, so that can be both good and bad depending... I won't be hurt by going to either one as far as the actual education goes, they are rated 1% different as far as placement and retention go. (advantage ISU by the 1%)

I would go with Iowa, smaller classes, shorter commute, and closer to home, and a percent difference is so minor.

That is my intention, however, they are the ones holding out on me. I should hopefully know within a week or so.

Hopefully it's Iowa you can go to Roger, sounds like that would work much better for you.

plus ISU you would be commuting 4 hours a day, the stress of that kind of commute wouldn't be good for daily concentration!

Iowa isn't as happy with my grades as they haven't been all A's and B's, actually only a few have been... oh well. (the engineering and math grades, the other stuff got aced easily...) That is why they are holding out on me. They want to see my grades from this semester. If I end up at ISU, then likely I will either get an apartment or find a room mate. Depends too what my class schedule should turn out to be.
