Dash Meltdown
Had a remote starter cause a fire in my dash. It melted the top of dash from speedo and tack over to the driver side door. Truck was just repainted and many new parts were put on. Ford doesnt make the parts nomore so i was forced to look in junk yards.
A junk yard quoted me a price for a complete dash with wiring harness for a 1050 dollars. The junk yard is in arkansas and i am in pennsylvania. What questions should i be asking about the dash and harness before i pay for it and have it shipped. Are all the harnesses the same? Help me out so i dont get stuck with parts i dont need or wont work.
The wiring harness is the one coming into the truck by the emergency brake and going intothe headlight switch switch area. Are there other parts in there that could have been damaged?
