so for the past 1,000 miles or so Ive had a small oil leak. i dont know where it it is coming from! but it gathers where the trans meets the block by the starter/ bell housing. its not a lot just little drips here and there should this be a concern?
Somebody else will come along that knows way more than me, but those leaks are usually found in the engine valley and run down the back of the block and make their way down through that cover.
yes there is a little build up in the valley, but it wasnt much, i mean it only drips every couple of days so my driveway just has little dots on it everywhere
clean up the valley real good and then drive it awhile. with the V being nice and clean you can see if the leak is forward (HPOP) or rear of V (pedestal O-rings) possibly. Somebody more knowledgable will chime in here soon. Are you sure its oil and not fuel?
well im not totaly sure, its hard to see down there, but i have stuck things down there and it looks like oil, and doesnt have the strong smell of diesel? whats the safest and easiest way to clean the valley, its pretty hard to get to.
I put a buch of simple green in/on my valley the other day and then carefully used the garden hose with a nozzle on stream and washed it out the back where the drain is in the valley.
My valley drain is plugged up with cracked acorn shells and battery insulation blanket thanks to the booming squirrel population around my home. Dug out most of the stuff but still some in there. I'm not going to go crazy untill I order the parts for the pedestal and turbo rebuild next month. I have to fix my TPS first to the tune of $180.00 .
