Well I just got a new set of tires. Goodyear Silent Armor 265/75/16 Load Range E's.
They are so freaking loud around 55mph that I can't hear my engine hardly any more. They ride nice and look really good on my unit, but part of the fun of having a PSD is to hear it work...not hear the tire noise.
Noise is no where until around 53 and is gone by 60 at the most. Just sounds like a constant type roar...gets a little louder with speeding up and disappears a little with slow down.
Aggrivating....just wanted to vent. Thank you and have a nice evening.
RC - Can u swap them out for a different tire. Dont know where u bought them, but Dobb's here I deal with has a guarantee that if you're not happy take em back & get a different brand. Might be worth a phone call
And well for the love of crap and top off this horrible weekend, I am dead in the parking lot. Turned the key over last night, horribly loud grinding sound and nothing. Turned key again, grinding, no contact.
Had to wake the girl up last night and have her come and get me from work....just marvelous.

Well, look on the bright side... you don't have to listen to the tire noise now!
I have the damn things on mine and when they are worn out, I will go back to BFG. They are noisy as hell and for some damn reason, they cannot balance them. They have replaced three of them since I bought them new. They keep blaming alignment which I know is BS. I did the alignment myself. The tires are wearing flat, a miracle for a Ford Truck, no edging at all. It steers great. One thing I did notice is that I have to run 5 PSI higher in the front (62 or bad understeer, turn and no reaction) than Ford states and the same in the rear (75) or it will give the feeling of dirt tracking (oversteer)on you in a curve.
Man, your batting a thousand. Running with Cedric, . With all seriousness, hope things get better..What do you think, starter?
As a matter of fact it was. Yesterday while I was taking a class my brother came to check it out and the starter had all but complete fallen away from where it was supposed to be attached. He got it reattached and all is well starting wise.
Yesterday evening I hooked up the flat bed trailer and was bring it down the road with the new tires and I was haulding a golf cart and a lawn mower and now I have that stupid tire noise at about 40 to 45.
I am going to experiment with the pressures and see if that does anything to change the way they sound.....
