I can't get my passenger side marker light to work, the turn signal works, but not the marker part. At night, the turn indicator is lit up all the time. I replaced the bulb, and then nothing worked, the turn indicator shut off as well. A few days later the turn indicator came back on and the turn signal started working, but the marker light still does not. I cleaned all the plugs and checked the grounds, and have tried several bulbs. The rear turn signal and marker light work. This is on my 79 F-150. I can't stand it when little things like this don't work, please help. Thanks
these trucks are prone to these types of problems because of various reasons and yes these little things are a PITA. Measure the voltage at that perticular light. If there is no power then just use an ice pic and trace the wires all the way back until you get power. It's a pain but we eventually always have to do it. good luck.

If the dash turn signal indicator lights up when you turn on the headlights......that is a sure sign that there is a ground problem on the side that is lit up.
The running lights are getting their ground thru the signal light circuit and lighting the dash indicator in the process.
Most times it is a corroded bulb socket, these are quite cheap at an Auto Parts Store like about $5 Cdn dollars here. So the equilvalent in US dollars is about $1
Originally posted by Sycostang67 I replaced both light sockets, and now everything works fine, and for some odd reason my CB works now too. Thanks for the help.
Wow you must have got the Turn Signal/CB Radio interface relay working
Sounds like a ground problem the ground contact gets ate up over time, almost all of my lights/grounding have needed attention. Then again, I live on the gulf of mexico
