You know that black crap that gets on the truck when you park it under a tree for almost a year while it waits for a new motor? 1/2 cup of bleach in the wash water takes it right off.
Oh, and I've already ditched the air cleaner for one that works, that Edelbrock POS was just for show.
The truck's an older restoration or maybe just an old truck that's been painted several times and in reality needs it again. The only cancer in the whole truck is in the drivers side floor about a 4" square area around the cab mount bolt and parts of the bed. Cab mounts underneath look good and resisted the "pick hammer" test. Bed needs a floor. Core support and rt inner fender show signs of a fender bender somewhere in the past. Rt. outer fender has a OEM part# stenciled on the inside, so it's a replacement as is the bar between the grille and hood.
Motor came out of a '72 Mustang we restored at work. C-6, diff pumpkin, rad and other assorted stuff came out of an '82 F-150 I picked up for $500 with a blown 302.
It's got a long way to go, but at least it's on the road under it's own power again.
Hey pwrstrk, do you happen to know Lee Ramsey? I guess he used to be the chief of the Fire Dept in Vilonia.
I used to work at John Walters Chevy with him.
