Acquired a set of stock outside mirrors with the brackets for the slots in the doors. One bracket is obviously an original and one is a repop. The original has a slight angle above the door line and the repop is just a straight bracket. Can't imagine the amount of force necessary to bend the stock bracket on the truck...is the bend supposed to be there or are they supposed to be straight?
......another pet peev of mine: when 'repop' turns out to be kinda close, but not exact.

Shoo, thanks for the pic. I thought that the bent one was right. I knew someone made the other one I have, it's got course threads and the original has fine threads. It's also a bit thinner, so it'll be easier to chuck that one in the vise and bend it to match the original than the other way around. A little paint and you'll never notice the difference.
Can't get a close look at both of them at the same time anyway.
