hi i have a 96 f150 2wd with a 6in lifty by superlift. i ordered superlifts styableizer but its on national backorder. the guy from sumit racing told me the skyjacker was in stock pn 7240 dual stableizer. i cant figure out how the hell this thing goes on. am i not allowed to mix lift parts? any help would be great! thanks
ok my neighbor helped me last night i got it on it works fine but the front end still shakes around....this happened out of know where. could it be tie rods? centerlink? everything seems fine and i rotated the tires and had them ballanced too. ive never delt with a 2wd front end
What frontend does it have, stock IFS with a lift added to it? Changed over to a solid front axle? What size/type tire?
You need to look it all over real good, depending on tire size of course a front end with no play in it won't need a steering stabilizer to start with, installing one just aids in masking any underlying problems.
Have the tires checked, have them spun and watch them while doing so. Any hop "blip" in the tread area or side to side movement, pay attention to the rims, one might be bent.
Put the rears on the front, any change at all?
Get the weight off the wheels, use a pry bar if need be. Check the IFS (assuming at this point it has them) pivot bushings, should have no easy play/deflection in any direction.
tires have been rotated and balanced the size is 315/75/16 bfg all-terains. the lift is superlifts 6in standard lift. never had a problem till recently. truck has 200k on it just lost on why its doing this..
ok they viciously shake side to side nothing slams its live im sking the steering wheel side to side but im not im holding it straight. im wondering if its got a bad center link or tie rods....im lost
ball joints are fine were replaced with the lift. i just jacked the front end up again and cant find anything bad. how can you tell if you have a bad gear box?
