I just installed the Leveling kit keys that replace the torso keys on
a 2000 f-150. Raised the front end about 2.5 inches. Looks amazing and made
the truck look real mean.
The issue is now the truck's front end squeaks. It doesn't squeak to bad but when you hit bumps you can hear it. Also the ride is much more bouncy, but thats what happens when you mess with the stock height.
So any ideal on how to fix the squeaking? It sounds like it is only coming from
the front left tire. I sprayed wd40 on all the parts and grooves and rechecked the new keys and the installment looks very nice.
i had that on kids mustang once. ended up being torsion bar bushings. had to loosen up and put antisize around it and bolt back on.... bounce on the fender and have someone probe around and narrow it down for you.
Great ideal! That sounds like a plan I will try it tomorrow morning and see what I can find.
You don't think the 2.5" lift is to much do you?
I mean they are designed to lift 1' to 3' inches without changing shocks
and all. It looks so good to.
Looks like this is very common when you change torsion bars. I read where
you might need to grease them and let them settle in on the truck. I'm going to grease them today and if that does not work in a few days I am going to do what steve(ill) said
Hey, I am new to this forum, but I lifted my 2003 f-150 supercrew with torsion keys and blocks in the back and even though they say you don't need shocks up to 3 in, it helps. I ended up putting Rancho shocks for a 1-3 inch lift in, and the truck rides much better.
