doncha hate it when a truck comes available, local at the right price, in workable condition - one that you're really interested in and when the seller finally returns your call a couple days later it's to tell you it sold today?
That sucks. Least he called you back. Only thing worse would be to find it at the perfect price and then have an unexpected cost come up and not be able to get it cause of liek $20 or something stupid...
Least you have the F-100 in the mean time right? You might try posting a want ad on craigslist regularly. I remember seeing a '56 COE in Denver a couple months ago, was a decent price, no idea if it sold. I never find anything I'm looking for if I don't post a want ad usually... and at least once a month. Good luck in the hunt, the waiting pays off big time! Plus it gives you a cool story behind it all...
Been looking for a 48-50 F1 for awhile now and have run into everything from an advertised F1 that turned out to be an F4, to a truck that was "almost done" that ended up being short one door, a bed, front clip, and having a twisted frame.
Lets not mention the "perfect" truck that you can't buy because the owner will not return a call.
Each time, I just have to think God was telling me this wasn't the truck for me!
Hope I run into you some time, I'm also in Tuttle! If you're not stuck on a 56, you might call on this '48 COE:
Hey Vintage56 here is that 56 ford coe I was telling you about. Missing running boards, fenders are in bad shape, it is fixable but you will need to graft on a new front windshield area. Can you see the picks?
