Was looking through some of the old CB threads while trying to figure out what kind of CB to buy for my truck but none of the ones on those threads had prices for anything. So I was wondering what a good entry level CB would cost, or what's the best entry level one I could buy for $150 or so?
I would say get a Cobra 29 classic, (not a sound tracker) the classic will run you around $89-110 last time I checked. Then take it to a good CB shop and have them peak & tweak it also get a good mic I prefer an astatic but some like road kings both are good.
I would go to a cb shop first you can get a combo deal and haggle a little to get it all for the $150 you have.
Also when you get your CB and antenna make sure you use 18 feet of coax from the antenna to the CB and have the CB shop set your SWR's this is very important for impedance and signal strength as well as your receive range.
Hint to find a good CB shop go to a truck stop and ask some of the drivers there were a good one is at don't just walk in and buy one.
CB techs are like mechanics you got good ones and bad ones.
hope this helps.
