rear lighting problem

on my 1976 f-150 the rear lights were all messed up. i now have it all re-wired correctly but they don't want to work right. with the head lights on, nothing will work when i press the brake or turn on the blinker, ground problem? the ground connections on the truck are all good, but do the sockets get bad easily? also, the flashers flash, but the blinkers will not blink, any idea why?

Try swapping the emergency flasher with the turn signal flasher. That way you can see if the turn signal flasher is dead.
Do the brake lights work when the headlights are off?? If so it is most likely a ground problem, and yes the light sockets are prone to corrosion on these trucks
