I have a ford f250hd with a 460bb im doing a complete rebuild on im looking for a fairly aggressive cam and lifter set that will give me more lower end torq for under 250bucks
and got a custom ground cam and lifter set for less than the budget you posted. Mine is still waiting for install, but one member here has installed his custom cam and seems very happy..
i really like the comp thumper cam 279duration,,on the desktop dyno this grind did real well and when i put them in both my 460,s i will tell you how they work..the lift is not exorbitant and it would seem yhat you could use your stock springs..they are a little on the expensive side though... if you are going to do head work or a rebuild the door is open you can go as fast as you can afford...
Never use stock springs on a performance cam, thats just asking for trouble. All cams have a cam card included that state the spring requirements printed on them. Installed height, seat psi, etc.
