ac problems i think

ac problems i think

went to turn on the ac today it blows but not cold .. the system has a full charge . noticed the clutch in front of the compressor spins real quick then stops then does the same thing several times is it the compressor or the clutch not sure if it is the compressor ,how hard are they too change

The compressor has a clutch in the front of it. It engages, pumps the freon then disengages according to how hard it needs to work to maintain the level of cold you specify.

Are you saying it is freely just spinning on the shaft?

If the compressor is cycling on and off rapidly, the system is more than likely low on freon. You have a leak somewhere. It is comon for the compressor shaft seal to leak freon.
