97 F350 4x4 Conversion, love it or hate it build

I haven't posted much in this area of FTE but I spend a lot of time in the 73-79 area. I've built a few trucks, mostly bolt on stuff, some minor fab.
I have also in the past year started hanging out in the diesel playground. Last truck I built was an 83 6.9 with an ATS turbo.

So here is what I picked up late fall in 09' for my next project

97 F350 Crewcab 2wd. It was originally a powerstroke with an auto.
When I got it the motor had been removed. The previous owner was going to install an idi but quickly got in over his head.
I don't have any pictures of it with the 2wd suspension in place as I yanked it right away.

My plans for this truck:

4X4 conversion
front DRW D60 from 89' F350
New Process 271 F transfer case
ZF6 manual 6 spd

Suspension
front and rear shackle reversals
4-6" leaf spring lift
adjustable panhard bar

Re-power (love it or hate it)
Cummins 12 valve

extras
22.5" Alcoas
American Force 8 ~ 10 lug adapters
255 series drive tires front and rear
black powdercoated dual 6" stacks
goosneck hitch
5th wheel hitch
class V hitch
possibly an in bed diesel transfer tank

I found a pretty solid deal locally on a donor for the front DRW D60 so I decided to drive down to Illinois to pick up a 89' F350 chassis cab

specs:
89 F350 chassis cab
Dana 60 Front
Sterling rear
460 converted to run propane
ZF5
flat bed

*all parts left over are for sale* I'm only using the front axle and the rear gears.

it's been used for plowing in the Illinois winters so it is RUSTY!

All the pictures show the truck lifted up in the front so I could pull the front axle, it doesn't really sit up that high.

pulled the front axle out of the 89' and moved it under the 97'

In these pictures the D60 is just rolled under the 97', not bolted up to anything yet.
I am also going to have to box the front of the 2wd frame and for reference the 2wd frames and 4wd frames are very different.
They share very few pre-drilled holes. (these are also two different generation frames)

Cool. I just finished mine in January. Lookin good. Have a look in my gallery and see what you think of mine. I did the Sky RSK in the front and a shackle flip in the back. My donor truck was a '91 F350 chassis cab with a blown IDI.

I just saw your comment about the lack of shared holes. I actually didn't find ANY shared holes. I had to drill every one that I needed to swap the suspension.

Your truck looks great!! Our trucks are very similar, do you plan on running dually rims on yours? Do you have any side shots of your shackle angle in the front?

Parts waiting to get bolted on:

Finally got around to working on the truck now that most of the snow is gone. I had to drill all six holes for the front bracket.
The 2wd frame shares no holes with the 4x4 frame. I also need to go buy some steel plate and start boxing the frame.

I was wondering if those bolt on hangers were an ordered conversion kit and if so who makes them? Thanks

Why do you want to do a shackle reversal in the rear? The rears are all ready at the back of the spring.

I didn't bother to look. The pictures are way too big.

Sad face. I really wanted to see this truck too!
