That's exactly what I wanted to do myself... it's just ordinary tubing. Would you willing to give me some dimensions? Looks great BTW!

I started out with 20' of 2'' schedule 40 pipe, 10' of 3/4 schedule 40 and 4 90* weld in elbows and a 4'' by 24'' piece of aluminum diamond plate.

I cut the small tubing into 2' pieces and put bends at 6''

I cut the diamond plate to 2'' by 11'' pieces.

Ill have to get back to you on the rest tomorrow thats all I remember, im making a set for my grandpa's F-150 so I have alot of numbers in my head.

Great job on the steps, bending came out really clean.

Also, I like how you blocked the license plate in picture 11 but forgot to in picture 5.

Really guys, this is awesome! I've been drooling over bars like these (see my last thread?) and I didn't see what was so hard about making them. But now obviously, they're not. My Dad's dad can weld like NOBODY I've ever seen... all I gotta do is cut the steel for him. I'm seriously gonna do this... without steps, I'm destroying my seats!

Well, I have to say, looking at the first few pictures, I had my doubts about how this would turn out. But by the time I got to the end, dang if it didn't turn out very nice. It's not my style, but you did a very good job on that. Another guy with skills I wish I could have. Great job.

Ok so the total length of the 2'' pipe is 85 1/2'' and 94'' total with the elbows. From the front to the first step is 14'' and there is 13'' in between the two steps and 26'' to the back.

I would recommend tacking everything on the truck them taking it off and welding it. It would be hard to get it right if you just cut everything then took it some where to weld it imo.

Thanks a ton! Yeah, I'm debating what to do there... I was figuring on just having him weld the tubes for now. Then I'd figure out the mounts later... I'm not sure. I gotta get with my dad about some tubing. We've got that stuff laying around all over the place at his shop... I'd have to go get a few 90's though. That's some nice looking work... I wish I could weld. Someday, right?
