Any hints on getting this damned masking tape off?
I'm more interested in how you got it to stick in the first place. I can't get anything but duct tape to stick to mine. Rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball has worked well for me in the past, but I don't know what that would do to your fresh paint.
It's amazing what a difference carpet makes...I can't wait to get some in mine after I fix the floorboards and weatherstrip.

It stuck fine for me. To fine actually! I'll give the alcohol a try. My next idea was paint thinner, just have to be careful no to get it on the paint. The carpet gives it that new car smell! haha
Use better tape to prevent the adhesive from sticking. Blue and even green painters tape is best. It appears that you used too much tape and may should have used the tape to hold down any other material that did not stick.
There is one thing that WD-40 is good for, and that is adhesive removal. Try it. Works good on dead bugs and stuff like that too.

Well, the tape is glossy on one side so it is difficult to penetrate. You will have to peel the tape as much as possible to expose the adhesive and then you will fin d the WD most effective.
A little heat from a heat gun is not a bad idea either. No heat gun, borrow the wife or girfirends hair dryer. Even on a low setting it is warm enough to make the adhesive pliable and easier to remove tape without tearing. Low heat will not harm your new finishes or dash pad, and then you can clean up the remaining adhesive with the WD.
Maybe taking that off would have been the ticket? Oh well, water under the bridge.
Looking real nice there.
The tape on the dash was easy to get off,,im not really concerned about it any. Its getting replaced. Like you said water under the bridge. Thanks for the compliment.
