what is a hx50 turbo? Is it a ball bearing turbo? If so is it a drop in?
The hx50 is basically the same thing as a H2e turbo. I believe the connections are slightly different.
No they are not a ball bearing turbo either. Just a rather large turbo that is capable of withstanding way more than the stock one. They give pretty high boost numbers with the right amount of fuel.

What is wrong with a mechanical boost gauge? I have two and have no problems. It is like having a direct link to the engine.
Never thought of using coper tubing, thats pretty neat Idea Neal!
I personally like the EV2 setup though, its simple and practical. Sensor sends readings to gauge, gauge interprets. No room for error, which is what I like.
Mechanical gauges can eventually fail as far as I can tell. There has to be some sorta pressure system inside the gauge that reads the line pressure.
But electronic ones can do just the same, the sensor can fail.
