I have a 2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition. After using the windshield washers a few times, the low fluid indicator light and alarm goes off. When I check the reservoir it is still more than half full. This false reading is really irritating. Ford dealer has been absolutely no help in this matter. Any ideas.
Ive never heard of the "Wiper Fluid" warning light....((Mildly Impressed)) I no nothing about the resevior, but (and not to knock ford, because i wouldnt drive any other vehice) Ford and Sensors dont always work Hand and Hand, as you will see by scanning thru some of the posts here. I would try and drain the resevior and look around for the sensor, and see if anything is damaged or out of place.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-May-02 AT 02:02 PM (EST)]I have a 2001 Ford Exy as well. I am suprised that you get it when you are 1/2 full. I get the light and alarm when I hit 3/4 left. It is a pain in the ****! "Really there is noting wrong, as the sensor works," says the Ford rep. Can you believe this guy?!?
I have just learned to live with it. Maybe I should take a hammer to the sensor and then see where we get. he he he hehe
My '97 does the same thing somewhere between 1/2 and 1/4 of the resevoir full. I agree, it's a pain. I hate driving around with the warning light going on and off. I should just disconnect the wires and permanently make it think it's full.
