The clearcoat is popping off the truck in places and I'm thinking of having it repainted. I'm happy with the Mohave ATX teflon coated (black) wheels, but I'm a bit stumped about what would look the best with them on the truck. I could:
Go back with the same basic two-tone paint, buffing and painting the bumpers, and have painted stock bumpers matching the 2nd color with the black grille and the black wheels, OR,
I could get new plain steel bumpers, diamond step on the rear, shoot them with black Line-X, and have black grill, black bumpers, black wheels, with two-tone paint,
Do the same and just ditch the 2nd color on the body.
Or I could go with chrome bumpers. Opinions on what might look best; what other options should I be thinking about?
Chrome bumpers, at least the front bumper would go good with a chrome grill insert. After playing around with the colors digitally, I changed your current front bumper to a satin black. Not too glossy, and not flat. It actually looks tough with the black grill and wheels.
Also, I'm a fan of two tones. Though I believe it would cost more to repaint.

Would I need chrome surrounds for the headlamps, and do you think they are available?

They are available from LMC and probably broncograveyard.com. But...since you have the black grill, trim and wheels already, why not go with the black bumper. It would be easier to do, much less expensive, different from 90% of all the other Fords of this generation and just plain looks cool as hell.

Excellent suggestion. I've been considering something like a line-x'd bumper: Linex-X Project View

Yeah after checking the link Id say that is going to look really really good. I'd love to do mine but I have a teal/white two tone with the chrome grill, surrounds and fender trim along with chrome body molding and polished aluminum wheels. Not to mention I have a polished aluminum truck box to install after I clean it up some.
I hope you post some pictures of the outcome. I'm looking for a F150 2wd as a project truck and I'm leaning towards a blacked-out Nascar theme. Complete with yellow lettered tires on black rims.
Thank you Kevin I eventually will be doing my truck box also in the bed liner also. I wish I could fit a full size box and my motorcycles back there but they dont so I had to have a shorty box.
