2009 ~ 2014 Common issues to inspect before buying
At my local auction a lot of 2009 thru 2014 supercab xl's go up for bid and they are all fairly stripped down models with just basic feature. Most all of them have the 3.7 natural aspirated V6. Other than major rot and rust, what other kind of issues do these era trucks have? I am very familiar with 2004.5 thru 2008, just not with these.

How about electrical / modules? Wiring?
I know 2009 was the year for switched vendors on their sheet metal and they rust way more, but I will purchase ones that are not total gonners?
Dash, HVAC, instrument clusters, etc? My crown vics EACH and EVERY instrument cluster has to come out and get resoldered 2006 ~ 2011, no exceptions they all fail.
2005+ lincoln town cars the whole dash needs to come out on EACH and EVERY one and new damper acutators need installed as they are highly faulty. Same with some diverted doors.
