Some of these trucks have had a hard life.... oil fields, and winters. Biggest thing for me would be salt, and check for rust...because these trucks are starting to rust due to age. A 2014 is 3 years old...and 3 years of salt will have rust.. Just me. But you might get an excellent truck at a good pr ice.

The earlier trucks like my 2012 no not meet CA emissions which is a requirement in WA State, which is where I live, if it was purchased new and brought here. Other than that, Sync services and other options related to Sync(Vehicle Health Report) do not work on Canadian trucks.
As stated above, my truck had a hard life. When I got it there was sand in places I didn't think sand could get. The CAC was caked with sand and dirt. The underbody was rust free but sometimes this is difficult to tell since most get undercoated before being imported.

When I bought my truck last year I looked at another 2012 XLT that had come down from Canada. It was a low option XLT that did not seem to have the normal features that an American model would have. IT was not the XTR package. There was a problem with the right side power door mirror and the dealer refused to repair it, nor would they order me an English printed owners manual; so I refused to buy their truck.

There were a few interesting option differences in Canada. One being you could get the big towing mirrors as a stand alone option on the 5.0. Another being that you could get the 6.2 in a Limited trim 2013/2014 when the US Limited was only available with the EcoBoost. Plenty of other oddities can be found if you compare option lists through the 2011-2014 model years and I assume the same can be said today.
