Question U.S. vs Canadian F-150's?

I've noticed in the history reports of XTR's that there's a mention of "vehicle originally manufactured for non US market". Other than a few trim features and DRL's is there any other difference in F-150's manufactured for U.S. sales vs Canada sales?

Some of these trucks have had a hard life.... oil fields, and winters. Biggest thing for me would be salt, and check for rust...because these trucks are starting to rust due to age. A 2014 is 3 years old...and 3 years of salt will have rust.. Just me. But you might get an excellent truck at a good pr ice.

Thanks for the response and I understand the possible salt/rust issue. Just wondering if there are many "as manufactured" differences.

Aside from the drl, I don't think there's much difference. For reference the XTR is just the 302A package and it's a huge volume seller up here.

Also the salt problem is very region specific. Much worse in Ontario and Quebec than the Canadian west.

The earlier trucks like my 2012 no not meet CA emissions which is a requirement in WA State, which is where I live, if it was purchased new and brought here. Other than that, Sync services and other options related to Sync(Vehicle Health Report) do not work on Canadian trucks.

As stated above, my truck had a hard life. When I got it there was sand in places I didn't think sand could get. The CAC was caked with sand and dirt. The underbody was rust free but sometimes this is difficult to tell since most get undercoated before being imported.

Another thing is most Canadian trucks come with a block heater and depending on where it was first sold no HD radio. My truck was 50 State Emissions legal going by the Window Sticker.

When I bought my truck last year I looked at another 2012 XLT that had come down from Canada. It was a low option XLT that did not seem to have the normal features that an American model would have. IT was not the XTR package. There was a problem with the right side power door mirror and the dealer refused to repair it, nor would they order me an English printed owners manual; so I refused to buy their truck.

Yeah, no mattery where the truck was first sold, it should have the features you want. I've never compared the base XLT in Canada vs the USA, that might be an interesting thing to do. You don't see many 300A package trucks around here, the XTR (302A) outsells it by a wide margin.

There were a few interesting option differences in Canada. One being you could get the big towing mirrors as a stand alone option on the 5.0. Another being that you could get the 6.2 in a Limited trim 2013/2014 when the US Limited was only available with the EcoBoost. Plenty of other oddities can be found if you compare option lists through the 2011-2014 model years and I assume the same can be said today.

Nothing to do with Canada, but my 2013 has a block heater due to being sold new in WI. I bought it there and took it home to IL.

What about the gauges? Aren't those in metric readout instead of "American"? Lol. Kilometers per hour, etc.

What about the nav. system? Does it say "Eh?" after every statement?

No, but it apologizes every time it has to recalculate a route, and it keeps trying to get you to go for a flat of Labatts.
