Rear spoiler help keep window clean?

Rear spoiler help keep window clean?
I have a 2010 V6 AWD drive escape and so far I love this vehicle. I was looking at Ford or a Car ID rear spoiler to put on my Escape and wondering if they help in keeping some of the road grime off the rear window or are they more for looks, or helping change air flow and keeping back window clean? If anyone has one could you let me know. Also do they change fuel mileage?

I have been wondering the same thing. I was at a Ford dealer on Saturday and I saw a flyer for aftermarket additions to the Escape and noticed the rear spoiler that is available. My 2009 has the same problem as yours, lots of grime on the rear-end. I'll bet it will work.
