Interior mods? Picture thread for pre-97 interiors.
I want to see what everyone is doing to their interiors. I'm wanting my seats and console redone, but can't find pictures on the internet of these trucks.
Here's a console I made to hold my GPS. First time I tried fiberglass. I've since learned tons about it so I'm about to try again.
Where this console goes, between the seats? I always install my GPS on top of the dash, this way I can look at it while still keeping an eye on the road ahead. Another thing to consider would be potential break-in and theft of your GPS if it's permanently mounted, this was a big issue at my college...

If your going to mount it permanently liked LCAM stated then it would be a good idea to make a cover for it because if someone sees that then more then likely it has a good chance of getting stolen.
The gps isn't permanent because its a cross over handheld for fishing too. Wouldn't matter tho. Where I live a farm truck with limo'd tint doesn't get looked into anyway.
Thanks for the pics 9.ford.5. Thats exactly what I was looking for. I have my trim out right now trying to paint it and recovered one of my door panels in black where you have yours painted blue. It didn't really turn out the way I wanted. Nice lookin ride man! How did you get the stock gauges to shine blue?

GPS: Girl Positioning System. Men shouldn't need it!
Well, it does come handy when you're out on the road three states away from your base of operations, and the only girls easy to find are the cashiers at the fuel stations... lol
E.honda, his gauges shine blue because he took his cluster apart and replaced the factory white bulbs with blue LEDs, it's a pretty common mod actually and you have a choice of different colors of LEDs too.
That gps has saved me more than once. Like running through Matagorda Bay in the middle of the night. You can't see anything out there sometimes so its nice to just know where you are.
Thanks LCAM - I didn't even think about taking my gauges apart. I just paid the 15$ for the white gauges and spent like 10 minutes putting them in.
I'm not sure I'd like white gauges, they look nice but I do mostly night runs with the dash lights dimmed way low, so white gauges may be a bit too light/bright for me... Also I prefer red backlight for the gauges, as it's easiest on the eyes, but since I have an older truck with a cable-driven speedometer I'm having a hard time disconnecting the cluster so I can remove it and play with LEDs.
ill bite...just some quick paint work and fancy LEDs...but it looks good
2 questions: 1) did you have to scrape away the green coloring on the gauges to get the blue to shine through nicely. 2) Do the dash lights still dim with the ****?

I'll take some pictures tonight of it lit up. The only thing I've noticed is that the blue's contrast kind of messes with my eyes. They're reverse glow so they're black at night with blue numbers. Plus I have the chrome cover so the whole cluster isn't white. If that was painted flat black then there wouldn't be any glare at all.
Here are the pictures I never put up. My subs and amp are under the console. I'm not drinking and driving either. Its Saturday and I'm not going anywhere!!!
Seeing that custom wheel on Honda's rig makes me wanna run out an' rip my stock wheel off. Add more details, please? I don't use cruise control, (I control my rig...) and I also like the black and wood combination if it's out there...Grant?
Looks good guys. I am going to redo my interior in my 93. It's red on exterior with maroon on the interior and to me that is the ugliest color combo you can have so I am going all black and grey on the interior. I am not a fan of red at all but got a great deal on the truck. Anyways, that Grant wheel above is not too bad. A bit small for my liking, but I have it on my 68 Lincoln Continental temporarily until I fix my stock one. It looks good and a bit classy without crazy tribal look or cut out flames or such. Looks good on your truck!
Keep the pictures coming!
BTW, are those 2000 style Chevy truck/suv seats in there? I am looking to put a new bench seat in mine without having to do any mods at all and at most just drill new holes and that's about it.
