There is a thread about 3 threads down about trans issues with the 09/10 6 speed. Go there. There is a search feature on the forum as well and it would be good to check this if you have a question about something that has probably been discussed before

If they have a problem, I would think they would post in that thread as opposed to your own personal thread which does NOT make it clear that you are aware of the other thread. There are a number of posts in the other thread from TODAY which means that accumulating info there makes far more sense.

NOT... Talked to techs that have said only some people complaining about "harsh" shifting with new trucks. No failures. The trans needs to work itself in a bit sometimes and there is also a re-program (flash) that some trucks seemed to work smoother with. Get the truck. The trans is good. There are a few zealots on here that freak out over NOTHING. Also, the owner's manual actually mentions the different shifting as normal. It has more gears, so it has to "search" a bit more. Overall, I have been VERY impressed.

Plenty of trannys with problems. The TCM needs to be reflashed on some of the trucks, others will need new valve bodies. Wait until most of these trucks get 50K+ you will see clutch failures.

yeah, PLENTY of people freaking out over some harsh shifts, 1-2 or 2-1 clunks. But they need to just drive it some more and let it break-in and let the computer adjust to their driving style. I had some of these very minor symptons early on, they didn't occur all the time, but after 2 to 3,000 miles, it felt a lot smoother and now I'm over 5500 miles and I never feel anything from my tranny anymore.

Some people complained about a power loss after the computer reflash. My dealer said the same thing, basically the service guy "claimed" the power is reduced somewhat so it doesn't shift as hard. I said "no thanks" to that and kept driving my truck and now it feels great.

If someone feels that they have a more serious tranny problem, then by all means have the dealer look at it.

tomsash, the complaints here are the minority, there's PLENTY of owners with trouble free trucks, they just don't post about it...

Actually harder firmer shifts are better then softer ones. If you have a softer shift there is some slipping going on. You want hard, fast, firm shifts.

Because your truck is problem free does not mean there are a no a lot of problems. They don't issue TSB's for 2 trucks. Yes, the majority work fine. No one can say what your odds are you will have any of the problems people have reported.
