Cheap intake mod...

I just can afford $300.oo or more right now for my 2004 screw 5.4 so I did my own..

Bought 3in tubing for $15.00 from http://usedturbos.net/Catalog/index....d=17&Itemid=53

3x4 plbg boot from Lowes $ 7.50

3in Spectra cplg from Autozone $8.00

I JB welded 1/2 copper tubing for the vaccum lines and drilled a hole in the plg boot for the air temp sensor .
I did the Got mod at the fender .
It seems to have better throttle response and a bit more power. Do'nt know about mileage yet.
I'm gonna get a K&N filter one of these days to let it breath a little easier.

that is pretty slick right there. it is just to bad that you still have that big ol hole in your cover plastic that says 5.4 on it. if it were mine i would want to finsd a way to make that gap smaller. but thats just me. i wonder is that pipe you used better performance wise than just removing the stock intake silencer? either way very nice

Thnx guys..
Yea,I'm figuren out sometn to close that big hole in. By just taken the silencer out seems to me there would be allot of turbulence . This should be a little more direct in gettn that air in there...
Plus I can always go back stock.

i havent done the gotts mod yet, but i hope to this week. basically you take about a 5 inch section of pvc, and shape one end so that it will fit into thw hole in the fender. make sure it can go all the way in. there are two peices of metal it has to fit through. then you take a 3" to 3" black rubber connector, and atatch one side to the pvc and one side to your filter box and tada! if its done right you shoud have to look really hard to see the pvc
