Hello, I was leaking coolant and had my mechanic pressure test, and I need to replace my radiator. He claims that junkyard radiators are no good and I need to buy a new one. is this true?? or is he just trying to make a buck.
Is this a particularly hard job, i'm a college student and would only have time to do it myself during a weekend. just drain the system and undo all the piping? he said he would charge 1 hour of labor, $85, to do it. is it worth it?
If it were me, I'd do it myself and replace the radiator, if it actually needed replacement. I don't trust junkyard radiators cause there's no guarantee it isn't in the same condition or worse than mine.
