I have a 06 f350 6.0 with 107k miles. I recently drove 200 miles on clogged fuel filters (wish I would have had spares) really didnt have choice, it was a sunday trip to the mountains there are no autopart stores open sundays in the hills. Anyway, I changed the filters then my check engine light came on a week later and the dealer said it was the injector mod so $1000 later the truck runs great but I hear a very faint knocking noise coming from the motor. Its definitely more frequent while pulling a load, but is still there when I'm empty. I did notice the noise before the injector mod went. The noise is so faint you could not realize its there, but I'm **** with the truck and its driving me crazy. Any suggestions?
all diesel knock some. itsa compression based engine. with out hearing the truck its really hard to give any sound advise. most knocks are caused by fuel pressure or quality, lower end knocks like failing rods and mains anr not common,
also seen a few broken flex plates but they tend to make a big racket.
